Hi there! My name is Steve. Thanks for stopping by my website!
I was born in 1988, and like many others, grew up using Windows Movie Maker whenever I needed to edit or publish any video files. It was an excellent, free program that came bundled with the Windows operating system, and it was always my go-to video editing program.
Fast forward to 2017, and my manager at the company I was working for at the time asked if I could put together a quick and short product demonstration video to put on the website and the company YouTube channel.
I got the footage I needed, and decided this was a perfect editing job for Windows Movie Maker. I went to my Windows 10 PC and looked through the start menu, and to my dismay, I could not locate Windows Movie Maker!
Searching everywhere for the correct Windows Movie Maker download file
I did some online searching and found out that Microsoft had pulled the plug on Windows Movie Maker. No problem, I thought to myself, I just need to find the download link and install it on my Windows 10 computer.
That's when I realized how difficult it was to even find the correct download file. Even worse, some download pages appeared to promote malicious or unofficial versions, and I began to lose confidence altogether in even being able to use Windows Movie Maker for my project.
I then remembered that web files are sometimes archived and can be accessed even after the original files are no longer made available. After an extensive search, I was able to locate the archived links for the Windows Movie Maker installer files, including those for each language. After downloading the files, I completed the Windows Live Essentials 2012 setup, and lo and behold, had Windows Movie Maker up and running on my Windows 10 computer!
Helping others through this website
After I completed my work video project, I realized that so many other people out there must be struggling to find Windows Movie Maker as well. To make matters worse, there were scam and malicious versions floating around, and I wanted to do whatever I could to help others avoid the difficulty I had in using a classic video editing program.
That's when I decided to launch this website to make the download links readily accessible to anyone looking for the original download files.. The rest, as they say, is history. I hope you find this website useful, and happy editing!
